Students Council

Various association activities are organised to develop the talents of students in co-curricular activities. The college has Humanities, Science, Commerce and Management, Languages and Sports Associations. Every association is headed by a member of Faculty. On his / her recommendation, the Principal nominates the Secretary and a Joint Secretary from the final degree classes and the assistant secretaries are nominated from the second degree classes. The academic performance of the students is the sole criterion for the nomination. The principal is the Governor of all the associations.
Each class, I year B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., B.B.M., B.C.A., II Year B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., B.B.M., B.C.A., III year B.A., BSc., B.Com.,B.B.M., B.C.A. shall elect two representatives each (one boy and one girl). The boys shall elect the boys representative and the girls shall elect the girls representative. The election shall be by secret ballot.
The elected class representatives shall form the students council. The secretaries of various associations shall be deemed to be ex-officio members of the Students Council.
The President and the Secretary of the Students Council shall be elected by all the Degree students of the college. Joint Secretary shall be a girl student elected only by the Degree girl students. All of them must be from the final year degree class. The candidate who gets the next highest votes against the post of President will become the Vice-President of the Council.
The nature of election will be announced on the notice board. The whole process should be done peacefully and in a dignified manner. Violence or intimidation by any candidate and his/her supporters will lead to disqualification of the candidate/voter. Wastage of money and indiscipline shall be avoided.
N.C.C. unit leader and N.S.S. unit leaders are also the members of Students' Council.
The Principal reserves the right to disqualify a contesting candidate if his / her academic record and conduct is found to be dissatisfactory.
The Students Council can make suggestions to the Principal for improvement and promotion of student services.
The Principal at any time may order the suspension of any Association or the Students Council if its functioning is not in the best interests of the institution.
Students shall not collect any donation or contribution from the public in the name of the College without the written permission from the Principal.
